Pizza Sale
The Troop 59 Pizza Sale is almost as well known as our mascot, Woodstock. Each year, we have a sale in both November and January. This is one of the main fundraisers we have to fund our troop activities. All of the pizzas are assembled and delivered by the scouts ready to bake (or to freeze for later).
Making the Pizzas
After years of practice, Troop 59 has developed an assembly line that would make Henry Ford proud. Early Saturday morning, the scouts divide into stations. One station opens cans of sauce and distributes it to the assembly lines. One stacks the crusts on the shells. Another station opens the bags of cheese and pepperoni. The main station consists of two long rows of tables. Each row has a sauce person, cheese person, and pepperoni person who place their ingrediant on the pizzas. Other scouts place the pizzas in the boxes and groups them into stacks. No matter how many pizzas we make, according to Howie, there’s always 100 more to go!
