May 8th, Post office food drive

Our troop will be assisting the local post office with picking up and dropping off food to collection sites. We have route maps and signs for the drivers
in the Scout House.

When – Saturday May 8th, meet at 10:15 a.m. in the Scout House parking lot. Any amount of time or street coverage is welcomed.

Hooked on Books

Our Lady of Peace has collected over 40 boxes of books for Hooked on Books mission.    Troop 59 will deliver the books Wednesday February 17th.

Troop 59 Attacks Gettysburg

As you all know, the troop will be heading to Gettysburg and Washington D.C. June 22-28. We have been making plans and will present the trip at the Red and White dinner on March 9. Howie and Carol Richards have put the preliminary cost for Scouts at between $275 and $300 for the week. A final cost will be determined once the exact number of boys are signed up. Aaron Loncki, a Junior Assistant Scoutmaster in Troop 59, was featured as a “Good Kid” on WJET-TV 24’s evening news.  The segment featured the Troop’s pizza sale and details Aaron’s involvement in the Troop:
“(Aaron) has a lot of enthusiasm for scouting, does a lot of extra things that goes above and beyond as a scout. Really lives the scout law and the scout oath,” says Howard Richards, Aaron’s assistant Scout Master.
