Crew Survives Philmont

IMG_0566.JPGAfter months of preparation, Crew 806-C finally headed to Philmont Scout Ranch last month.
Their two-week ordeal started with two days of touring in Albuquerque, N.M. The crew had a blast!
They arrived at Philmont on the third day and squared away their final tasks before they hit the trail. Their ranger stayed with them for the first two of 10 days in the wilderness. After that, 806-C was on its own.
The crew participated in many activities and programs along the way including: team building, homesteading, pole sparing, tomahawk throwing, black powder rifle shooting, root beer drinking, burro (donkey) packing and many other things. They also saw the world’s largest Tyrannosaurus Rex track.
When they arrived at base camp on the last day, they were relieved to eat a real meal and take a nice, warm shower.
Though they left Philmont, the experience didn’t. It will never leave them.
